Alabama Youth Ballet, conveniently located in South East Huntsville, is home to the Alabama Youth Ballet School and the Alabama Youth Ballet Theatre.
Alabama Youth Ballet School provides professional instruction to dancers of all ages and abilities. We specialize in teaching dance in a manner that builds self-esteem, so that everyone from the beginner to the pre-professional dancer can excel at each level. A broad array of classes are offered on a weekly basis including Ballet, Modern, Liturgical & Tap. Our instructors share a common technical background and educational philosophy that gives each student a full, exciting dance education in a creative environment. The leadership of AYB cares about the development of healthy, well-rounded young people and believes in encouraging their dancers to be involved in community outreach.
Alabama Youth Ballet Theatre is the non-profit performing company of Alabama Youth Ballet. Under the artistic direction of Keren Gibb Hilliard & David Herriott, AYBT produces two major performances each year, including The Nutcracker (including much of the original choreography that has made this a Huntsville favorite) in December and their much loved Fairy Tale Ballet series in the spring, featuring timeless classics like Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty. In addition to these productions, members use dance to bring smiles to many faces with visits to retirement homes & hospitals, elementary school performances & participation in community arts events such as the Panoply Arts Festival.
